Paula Carter
Hi, I’m Paula, the photographer behind Paula Carter Photography.
Based in Southern Maryland, I specialize in timeless portrait photography and professional real estate imagery. Whether I’m documenting the excitement of a graduating senior, the anticipation of welcoming a new baby, the love shared between a family, or helping a home make an unforgettable first impression, my goal is always the same—to create photographs that feel genuine, meaningful, and lasting.
I believe the best photographs aren’t just beautiful; they’re the ones that bring you back to a feeling years from now.
My Story
Photography wasn’t something I stumbled into overnight, it was a dream that slowly became a reality.
My journey began with real estate photography in 2019 when I had the opportunity to work alongside a mentor before I even owned my own camera. That experience introduced me to the art of creating images with purpose and showed me how powerful photography can be.
When I officially launched Paula Carter Photography in 2021, I expanded into portrait photography, where I discovered another passion: preserving life’s milestones and the people who matter most.
Today, I’m fortunate to combine both passions through a business that allows me to serve families and real estate professionals throughout Southern Maryland.
Why Photography Matters to Me
Life has a way of changing before we realize it.
Children grow, families evolve, homes become cherished memories, and seasons of life pass far more quickly than we expect. That’s why I believe photography is an investment in remembering, not just what something looked like, but how it felt.
My approach is relaxed, thoughtful, and detail-oriented. I want every client to feel comfortable throughout the process and to receive images they’ll be proud to display for years to come.
Real Estate Photography
Real estate photography continues to hold a special place in my journey because it’s where my dream first began to take shape. What started as an opportunity to learn alongside a mentor has grown into a passion for showcasing homes with clean, inviting, and thoughtfully composed imagery.
I understand that professional photography plays an important role in marketing a property, and I love helping real estate agents present each listing in its very best light.
Beyond the Camera
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll most likely find me spending time with my family, exploring Southern Maryland, or working on one of the many projects that come with everyday life. Being a mom has given me an even greater appreciation for how quickly life changes, and it’s one of the biggest reasons I’m so passionate about preserving memories.
I truly believe every family, every home, and every milestone has a story worth remembering.
